Camping Rentals: Camping Without Your Camper

The best part of camping is being there. The worst part, for some, is setting up and taking down the camp. Putting up the tent, staking it down, putting on the rain fly, setting up the cots, taking down the tent, rolling it up tight, trying to squeeze it into a pouch that just seems too small. Or hauling out the RV camper for just a short weekend might seem like a lot of work. This is all time you could spend reading a book, lying by the pool, or hiking in the mountains. Maybe it’s time to take a look at renting your home away from home. And when considering camping rentals, there are a lot of options.

Camping Rentals: Renting a Cabin

Many campgrounds offer cabins of different styles, sizes and amenities. There are cozy cabins that can sleep up to 4, and there are big cabins that can sleep more than 8. There are 1 bedroom cabins, 2 bedroom cabin rentals, and cabins with a loft. The basic cabins tend to be the most economic, while the luxury cabins are just that: luxurious. Cabin rentals will most likely come with the needed basics, such as linens, dishes, etc. But be sure to check with the campground you are headed to. Some cabin rentals provide the shelter, beds and somewhere to sit, but not much else. Cabins are great for a family trip, or to share amongst friends.

Camp Rentals: Renting a Yurt

If you want more of a camping feel without the hassle of bringing your own shelter, check out yurts. What, you ask, is a yurt? Basically, a yurt is a permanent tent. It is a circular, domed structure made out of durable, extra heavy canvas with a spacious interior and a nice hard floor. Traditionally, yurts were used by nomadic tribes in Asia, and while modern yurts greatly resemble these traditional dwellings, they come with many of the amenities we’re used to in the 21st century. Depending on where you go yurting, you’ll find a yurt to be a comfortable, spacious, and a wonderful upgrade from regular tent camping, and a good camp rental option.

Camping Rentals: Renting an On-Site RV or Trailer

If you enjoy RVing, but don’t want to deal with the maintenance, storage and gas prices, you can always go with an RV camp rental. Many campgrounds have RVs set up for use year round. Just as with cabins and yurts, there are many different types of RVs you could rent. There are basic, smaller RVs, middle sized RVs, and monster RVs. On-site trailers may have all your amenities, almost like a hotel. Always check with the campground about what is provided, and be prepared to bring dishes and linens if needed.

More Camp Rentals

While cabins, RVs, trailers, and more frequently, yurts are available at most campgrounds, it’s always good to ask what other camp rentals are available. Some campgrounds have covered wagons, some have teepees, and others have lodging you never would have guessed existed.
